He did not grow up knowing his name. He arrived at Wysteria simply as another student. What he did not expect was the way his magic steadied near the Emberlins.

An Orphan's Inheritance

Klaus Emberlin is the last child Ambrose fathered before his death. His mother was a noblewoman from the Crown Prince's faction who had attempted to entangle herself with Ambrose through pregnancy. Ambrose refused to marry her.

Using the most dangerous leverage he possessed — classified records of illegal arcane weapon experiments funded by the Crown Prince — Ambrose forced the scheming to stop. The woman, humiliated and furious, abandoned the child at an orphanage shortly after birth.

That boy was Klaus. He grew up with no name, no lineage, and no guidance for the magic that manifested raw and unstable within him from an early age.

Shared blood does not always announce itself loudly. Near the Emberlins, the chaos within him steadied. Their philosophy — power tended, not unleashed — resonated in ways he could not explain.

The Air That Shifted

An incident in Klaus's childhood left him feared rather than understood. For years he learned control the hard way — through isolation, without anyone to teach him what he was or why his emotions bent the world around him.

He arrived at Wysteria Academy as another student seeking discipline. He did not know his presence changed the air in a room. He did not know why the Emberlins felt familiar. They did not yet know why something in them recognized him.

When the truth emerged, Klaus did not become a rival to the duchy. He became something quieter and more complicated — a brother, proof that the house's reach extended further than any of them had known.

The Protective Presence

Klaus is now disciplined where he was once volatile. His emotion-bound magic — once a source of instability — has become one of his greatest strengths. He feels the room before he reads it.

His marriage to Vexra Deathfang has deepened the Emberlin–Deathfang alliance in ways that are both strategic and genuine. Their son Jose is the living proof of what two powerful, opposing bloodlines can build when they choose each other instead of competing.

Klaus does not rule. He protects. And within House Emberlin, that is not a lesser role.
